About this opportunity
Syracuse University's Department of Drama is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Voice/Verse to begin in August 2027. This role involves teaching a sequential voice and text curriculum, coaching department productions, and maintaining an active professional creative or scholarly record. Priority will be given to applications submitted by November 2, 2026.
Who can apply
- MFA, DFA, or PhD in Theatre, Voice, or a closely related field (candidates with an MA and significant documented professional experience will also be considered).
- Demonstrated training or certification in a recognized vocal pedagogy.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in voice for the actor at the college or conservatory level preferred.
- Experience teaching and/or professionally working with verse and heightened text, including Shakespeare and classical repertoire.
- A record of scholarly or creative contributions to the field of voice pedagogy.
