About this opportunity
The Translation Fund for Literature supports international and Australian publishers in translating Australian creative writing and non-English works into English. Applicants can receive $5,000 or $10,000 to cover translation costs, with priority given to fiction, poetry, narrative non-fiction, and playwriting. Applications must include a translator’s CV and signed rights agreement.
Who can apply
- International publishers may apply to translate works by living Australian authors;
- Australian publishers may apply to translate non-English works into English using an Australian translator.
- Applicants must hold rights to the work, provide a translator's CV and signed rights agreement, and not have overdue grant reports or outstanding debts.
- Self-published authors cannot apply.
