About this opportunity
The Deutscher Sachbuchpreis annually awards the best non-fiction book in German. Publishers can submit up to two eligible titles published between April 2026 and April 2027. The award ceremony takes place in Hamburg.
Who can apply
- The applicant's publishing house must be a member of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, the Hauptverband des Österreichischen Buchhandels, or the Schweizer Buchhandels- und Verlags-Verband with an independent circulation number.
- Self-nominations by authors are not possible.Submitted titles must meet the content and formal criteria of a non-fiction book, be original German-language editions, be monographs, and be published between April 22, 2026, and April 20, 2027.
- They must be available in bookstores by April 20, 2027, at the latest.
