About this opportunity
Artist in Residence KOBE (AiRK) offers a residency program in Kobe, Japan, for international and domestic artists working in visual arts, performing arts, crafts, and film. Selected artists will engage in research, production, and community exchange programs, supported by studio access, venue arrangements for exhibitions, and promotional assistance. While a residency fee applies and living/travel expenses must be self-funded, the program provides valuable resources for creative development and community interaction.
Who can apply
- Individuals or groups who can stay and work at Artist in Residence KOBE (AiRK) for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months.
- Must engage in community interaction activities during the stay.
- Must be able to communicate in Japanese or English.
- Must be based in Kobe and conduct research and production with autonomy.
- Must be able to self-fund travel, transportation, living expenses, and materials.
- Must adhere to house rules and live harmoniously with other residents and the manager.
