About this opportunity
The St. Lawrence Book Award by Black Lawrence Press is an annual competition for unpublished first collections of poetry or prose (short stories or essays). The winner receives book publication, a $1,000 cash award, and ten copies of their book. Submissions are accepted through Submittable and must be postmarked by August 31st.
Who can apply
- Open to any writer who has not yet published a full-length manuscript in any genre.
- Novels and memoirs are not eligible.
- Prose refers to collected short fiction or essays.
- The winner will receive book publication, a $1,000 cash award, and ten copies of the book.
- Prizes are awarded on publication.
