About this opportunity
The British Library seeks a Manuscripts Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term position. This role involves cataloguing, digitisation, and assisting with interpretation of ancient, medieval, and early modern manuscripts. Requires a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and strong palaeographical skills.
Who can apply
- Postgraduate degree or its equivalent in medieval history, medieval art history, medieval literature or another closely related discipline.
- Specialist knowledge and research experience relevant to the British Library's collection of western medieval manuscripts.
- Strong knowledge of medieval Latin, and excellent palaeographical and codicological skills.
- Ability to work with colleagues in other areas, and the ability to work independently and to a high degree of accuracy.
